For many pet lovers, losing a pet is like losing a best friend, a family member, and a trusted companion all at once. When that loss occurs, many are left with grief and other emotions that can be overwhelming, not knowing what to do or say to move forward, or what to say to others in a similar predicament. Deceased Pet Care has partnered with Celeste Calvert of GROW Counseling, to help you through these emotions and the grieving process.

In her career and education, Celeste has worked to help families through many trying situations, including the loss of a pet. Celeste received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. Celeste has also pursued training through the Gottman Institute and Prepare/Enrich to facilitate her work with couples. Additionally, Celeste is trained in EMDR, a therapeutic technique designed to help people struggling to process trauma.

She now is in Specializations: Trauma, Couples, Women’s Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Grief & Loss with Grow Counseling and has spent time providing family counseling services to others, including grief therapy and recovery. She truly understands that times of loss can provide tremendous opportunity for growth. As an avid pet lover and mom to her furry four-legged family member, Celeste knows the important role pets play in our daily lives and the bond shared.

Deceased Pet Care Funeral Homes’ VIRTUAL Pet Loss Support Group, will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, from 7:30 pm — 8:30 pm. The meetings will be held online. You will be welcomed to share your story, or just listen and receive support from others who understand what it means to lose a pet. We will explore the grief process and learn ways to let go and move forward in a meaningful way that pays tribute to your beloved pet. Together we can get through the grieving process and start the recovery process.
